Stef, about Mia Audina (indonesian female badminton player), it's not true that the Indonesian federation kicked her out, after she got married she moved to holland, and the IBF still wants her to play for us (we need her for uber cup and all england) but she didn't want too Ah, seems like the commentator was misinformed...

Oh well, yet another doping scandal for the Greeks. What a shock, a weightlifter tested positive. I saw Lithuania beat the so-called US Dream Team. 4 games, 4 wins. So congrats Nom. Way to go Iraq! Finally caught a glimpse of them against Oz. These Olympics are a complete disaster for my fellow citizens. First time in 44 years that they haven't gotten a medal in the pool. Only managed 1 lousy medal in rowing, in a pretty exciting race I must say. They usually average around 15 medals per games (summer and winter). It might not impress you all but I reckon it's pretty decent for a small-populated country who doesn't specialise in 1 or 2 sports. So these games are hopeless, really hopeless. blagh!

Btw, they were talking about the fact that they have cheerleaders/dancing during the beach volleyball matches (probably to prevent spectators from falling asleep). No males to entertain the females tho.
Anyways, the reporter asked why the blokes aren't playing shirtless. It's a sponsor thing. The only "advertising" allowed on the trunks and the female bottoms (forgot the proper term) is the make of the swimsuit, like Speedo or Nike. On the top, it's logos of the federations, countries, etc.
The guy said that if they had their way, they'd be playing shirtless. Volunteers are litterally running after them to put the tops on minutes before the matches start.
This concludes the worthless olympics fact of the day.

nom, they showed a bit of the lithuania vs USA basketball match here too! forza Lithuania! i saw a tiny bit of that indonesian guy too, but i was walking past a shop and didnt see the outcome. congrats. paula radcliffe and denise lewis, the two brightest gold medal hopes we supposedly had, both flopped in their respective events this weekend. i think they both had injuries recently and havent performed since. that's what happens, the press build them up so much and then the pressure gets too much and they quit. ach. but another british woman got bronze in the heptathlon thou, so all was not lost. maurice greene is such a tosser. what the eff was he doing with his tongue to the camera before the 100 metres? glad he didnt win. was watching some swedish dude play in the ping pong quarter final, and the commentator was going "the tension, the atmosphere.... people talk of the men's 100 metres and the swimming events, but this is surely the defining moment of the olympic games". i honestly could not tell if he was taking the piss.

Oh thank you guys! I believe you aren't too interested in basketball but I am sincerely proud of our basketball dudes It's just Spain and us who haven't lost yet and hopefully we're not losing till the end Being banished to the country-side for the weekend, couldn't see the beauty of the city rejoicing, but I heard that was a hot night after that. And also we got first medal 15mins later they beat USA at women heptahlon and I have to say I like that girl who got it too. Oh Ast, do you know the girl who won gold? Carolina Kluft or smth from Sweden? She won like by 500 points, she's like a superwoman. She seems a sweet person though. Aw, congrats Kantee on getting gold! I saw table tennis male finals y'day and I have to say I'm really not a tennis girl. I love watching bikes though. Australian male team beat GB in the final yesterday

SPAIN WOZ ROBBED!!!! bloddy hell, basketball quarter finals just finished and the US won in a very unfair match, a couple of dubios calls from the refs and a ridiculous amount of pushing and shoving. agh. yet again i feel cheated. i hate sports. lithuania for gold!

yea nom, i saw the heptathlon, the lituanian woman was good, she beat the british one into bronze . i like heptathlon. i was sad that denise lewis didnt finish it though. yea carolina kluft is a beast, i think she's gonna compete in the long jump as well! brightest brit hope for at the moment is an actually quite cute boxer (dont get many of them!) called Amir Khan. he's only 17 and guaranteed a bronze. dont like watching boxers thou, it upsets me somewhat cause im a wimp. watched the super-duper-ultra heavy category or whatever it's called weightlifters last night and was very, very scared.

forgot to say how devastated i am that the spanish men's hockey team were knocked out. now they are never gonna be shown on tv here again in the near future and i have possibly seen the last of the love of my life, santi freixa (i think freixa would go well at the end of my name.) hockey in britain only exists to torture pupils at private girls schools (i speak from experience), and for the really sporty people at universties (i do not speak from experience. however i did haul myself up to the sport centre to stand and watch a hockey tournament in the rain and support friends, which is pretty dedicated. but that was probably the nearest i got to doing sport for a while.
i have just realised how many hours i have spent watching the olympics. it is actually the thing i have done the most of in my three month summer holiday, even more than watching euro 2004. how terribly tragic is that?

Yeah, that's truth!!! I saw it. Oh how angry I was at those fucking refrees and the USA coach was on the "field" all the time. Damn For some reason I think all basketball fans except Americans are sad about this. Really. I hate the USA basketball team, grrrrr. Sorry if I'm offending someone, but I have to lay it off my chest. I can't stand those arrogant bastards and all others such as Maurice Green! Ugh. I'm so sorry for my outburst Well, thanks god, we beat China and again after basketballers celebrated a victory 30mins later we got silver medal. At modern pentathlon. Had never seen so much of it before, horse riding (don't know what's the real name of it in englsh) is so random. Oh well. I know Carolina Kluft competed yesterday in a long jump yea, but don't know how it ended though I'm not into boxing either, don't find it exciting at all. They don't show hockey over here, but I googled Santi Freixa (I really like this name) and woah, he's very cute, looks young too. Do you know how old is he? Looks like 17 to me. Anyway, I have fallen in love with a dutch cyclist Theo Bos, he's 21 and looks kinda childish, but he stole my heart. Enjoy a pic of him! P.S. Ast, if it makes you feel better, there are some sad people who watch Olympics all day long and are going to cry when it ends Agh, I'm one of them.

oh the disgust... the bbc showed the hockey bronze medal match (yay!) but spain were once again so cruelly beaten, they are left in 4th place with nothing. yet again it's a case of nearly but not quite for the spanish. oh well at least i got to see some of my dream men again. no consolation for them though. yeah nom i noticed theo bos the other day too! i did only manage to see him with a weird helmet and fetching tight lycra, but still he did something to me. ah yes he's quite a pretty chap!. freixa is 21. i am so sure we would make the perfect couple. maybe i should follow the hockey circuit and stalk him, they probably have less security than footballers. there was something very fetching about those hockey guys in sleveless tops with those tanned muscly arms that did it for me. i fail to see the logic in the modern pentathlon, and im sure all of the men were useless at the horse riding. nom i dont know the proper name for it, they have equestrianism (which i assume is the umbrella name for horse stuff), and then they had dressage (?) or something, but to be honest i havent a clue what the difference is. it's all just horses to me. i actually ended up quite enjoying the beach volleyball finals, the random go-go dancers in bikinis running on every five minutes to dance to rubbish eurodisco like dj otzi made me chuckle, and although i think its rubbish to watch, it did make me wish i was on the beach, which i guess is what the appeal is. i found a vid of the BBC's opening titles for the games, i love them (but then im a geek and i generally love things like this), they are actually better than most of the programmes that the BBC shows. and i love the music, it's up there with the Champions League theme tune! they had an article about the euro 2004 titles, but no video file sadly. that one was awesome. check it out if you're bored! www.bbcresources.co.uk/postproduction/london/wmv/showreel3.wmvah well, in a couple of days it'll be over. nom, its nice to know im not alone in my sadness at this fact! i will have to find something else to do with the remains of my vacation. i was flicking through the tv guide and on sunday night i saw "Olympic Games: Closing Ceremony" and i was like "nooooooo!". i dont think i can cope. at least when the football season finshes you only have two months before it starts again.
