Indonesia tsunami death toll rises to 483
At least 100 people were killed by tidal waves following an earthquake that shook Indonesia's Sumatra island on Sunday, officials and local media reported.
Most of the deaths were in the province of Aceh on the northern tip of Sumatra island, said Metro, Indonesia's top television news channel.
A police official on Nias, an island popular with surfers off North Sumatra, said 13 bodies had been recovered from beaches there.
Officials had earlier put the toll at 87 across parts of Aceh province on the northern tip of Sumatra.

ohhh kantee , i hope you're alright and also anyone who's from those countries.it's the most serious natural disaster i've ever seen.in my country , nearly 1500 dead.i don't think i'll have a good new year celebration any more.what a sad news !!!

Total death toll is now 55,000.
Although SIngapore is not affected, we are still deeply saddened.

Yes, I'm fine, thanks kaew. it happened in Aceh and around sumatra island, that is so far away from where i live. it was horrible tragedy. I saw dead bodies all over the street on tv and it sad because most of them are kids  I've heard paolo maldini, inzaghi and some italian players are caught on earthquake also. they were on holiday in maldives. but they're ok. |

55,000  I'm deeply shocked I don't even know what to say, wish all those families who lost their members strength, all the best to them. Yep, heard that too, but yea they're ok. It's so sad |

I'm still upset about the disaster  The worst thing is that we can't really help those ppl, yea you can donate money, but it's not like money can repair everything.. |
