Italian striker Antonio Cassano will join Real Madrid on a four-and-a-half-year deal from Serie A club AS Roma, the Primera Liga side's TV station said on Tuesday.
Spanish media reported that Real had paid about 5.5 million euro ($A8.89 million) for the 23-year-old who had been embroiled in a dispute with the Italian club over his contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season.
The player was besieged by a group of around 30 reporters when he arrived at Barajas airport on Tuesday but refused to make any comment before being bundled into a waiting van.
Real said that Cassano will be presented to the media after undergoing a medical on Wednesday.

I don't think they need alot of the players they get. I think it sometimes seems like a pissing contest.

We do need a stiker. Raul will still be injured for some more time. Plus who knows, i heard he is good. He might help us out a lot.

do you really think Real need a striker? You bet !!!! Raúl injured, Ronie injured, Soldado permanent alternately between the castilla and the A-team, Robinho plays on the left wing, Baptista one big disappointment ... No, a top club like Real Madrid needs at least 4 strikers, if they want to have some say in the 3 competitions. A Cassano, 23 years young, with huge talent and for only 5.5 million euros is just what one needed. But also he's well-known for difficult character, so we'll see ... When required López Caro will put him for certain in his place. Capello has also achieved. In addition they need urgently a substitute for Roberto Carlos and a left-winger, except of Robinho there are no one who can play there, maybe el canterano Adrián Martín. And the most important, a player like Fernando Redondo for the defensive midfield ... the argentino Mascherano would be perfect! Gravesen and Pablo García are for the bench, they're only average. The squad must become larger, at the moment it's too short! ~ Well, here some pics of Antonio's Day ~

Probably, but it would be good to rotate from time to time, not as in past years in those Ronie and Raúl played almost all matches, from the beginning until the end, so there's no point in that!

rotation would be great but i still don't agree with this signing. why wouldn't perez think about bringing Makelele back?? or something like that. the problem is a defense not strikers. or maybe we need a decent centre midfielder

Yes kaew, losing makalele was the biggest mistake, back to the topic, i'm not a football expert but i'd rather sign a defenders and give saldado a good run, he's ok i guess

Toby, When raul and ronaldo are free injury, believe me, there will be no rotation, we have seen it before.
