no no, its probably a fair question!
snooker is a professional sport, but also a game popular in bars up and down the UK, probably not anywhere else in the world. it is played on a large green table with a white ball which is hit with a cue (stick) which is used to try and put lots of different coloured balls in pockets around the edge of the table. there are ten red balls in a triangle at one end and coloured balls around the rest of the table, worth different points. it is played between two players, and a player is snookered when, erm, the other player puts the ball in a position which cant be gotten out of or something. Im not too sure of the ins and outs of the game. my granny is a big fan. snooker has a cousin in the game pool, which is similar but different, also played a lot in pubs. i remeber it being played a great deal in heartbreak high, a great show.
historical big names in snooker include steve davis, steven hendry and the great Dennis taylor, famed for his huge glasses.
